Through play children can discover and rehearse different ways of understanding and coping with difficult feelings, leading to a healthier and happier way of being.
About Me
Hello my name is Laura Frank and I am a Play and Creative Arts Therapist and an Independent Senior Social Worker with over 15 years of experience of working with children and their families.
I have extensive experience of working with children who are looked after, adopted and birth children across Leicestershire and Warwickshire within a variety of settings.
I am particularly passionate around the power of therapeutic play to enable children to fully express and explore their feelings, thoughts, experiences and behaviour using their natural medium of communication.
I remain in awe at the amazing work the children complete in sessions and the bravery it takes to allow a therapist into their inner world, something I never take for granted. I am also fortunate to work with many great parents and carers along the way and feel strongly that therapy will be most effective with us working closely together.
I am registered with Play Therapy UK's Register of Play and Creative Arts Therapists which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. I am also registered with Social Work England and have received further training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (Level 2), Theraplay (Level 2) and Trauma Play.
